Bistro Baron – A French Gem
Bistro Baron recently underwent through renovation and I was excited to try out what the place had become and what they are serving right now. The place is quirky in a sense that it is kinda long shaped with glass windows on both lengthy sides. The place actually resonates ‘dining on a train’ like experience just by looking at the layout of the place and there are also curtains to close and open like you would if you are really dining on a train. At least that’s what I think they are trying to portray.
I went for the sandwich which came with fries. Not all sandwich comes with it. The fries was absolutely phenomenal and the aioli sauce really enhanced the taste of the fries. The sandwich on the other hand comes with soft grilled bread and within are fresh and raw greens with chicken and cheese. I really dig everything that was served. Portion size wise, its quite huge too.
The Croque Madame was perfectly grilled and despite it being moist within it wasn’t soggy at all. The gruyere cheese on top really gave the bread that cheesy salty flavour and we loved it to bits. The ham within was exemplary and if I there is one flaw if would be that the sunny side yolk should be runny.
At Plaza Indonesia, I find it a little difficult to find restaurants that serve really good food at good value. Prices at Bistro Baron is not crazy expensive and I think their lunch sets are still affordable given the food quality that I was given. Bistro Baron really made an impression for me and I guess I will be coming back often since I come to Plaza Indonesia a lot.
