Cajun Claws

Mud Crab Package For 2

Cajun Claws is one, if not, the only Louisiana’s style restaurant in Jakarta. I brought my brother who recently arrived back from the UK to Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) for the first time. I haven’t tried out a restaurant like this one in Jakarta. We had food straight off the table, grab em with bare hands, fun! The idea is to indulge seafood with your close group of buds or families, because these are the kinds of food where you shouldn’t mind sharing with, the bigger the party the merrier.

We absolutely loved the freshness of the seafood, and the secret sauce that was exceptionally delectable. Chefs here are highly skilled, in creating strong alluring flavours exemplified through the dishes. I have tried Louisiana foods overseas, certainly not in Indonesia because its existence is a rarity, but I can tell you that flavours are sensational, we’d say its authentically close.

The Mud Crab Package for two includes Mud Crabs, Shrimps, Clams, Corn, Baby potatoes, Cajun fries (below) or rice, iced tea, flambe (below).

The fries was adorned in Cajun seasonings. Fries are like a Christmas tree without ornaments, but having Cajun sprinkles is equivalent to fairy dusting the the Christmas tree, now more attractive and tasteful. It left us feeling moreish after every fry, its very addictive, really.

The Flambé was set alight briefly. One of the chefs would push a tray to your table and perform the Flambé-oyant service. He pulled out a pan, start caramelizing sugar on it, add banana slices and set it on fire with alcohol. Fire circus literally in-ma-face, a very fun deed as a customer totally not expecting what just happened.

Blackened Fish, 84 000RP

My brother and I also decided to try another main, because why not? The Blackened Fish has always been cursed to complaints, ‘Why is my fish burnt?!’ People please.. read the name again. The blackened parts are simply spices meant to look black I was told. The flavours were again, amazing.

I am fond to Louisiana flavours because they tend to be bold and robust. Its not that easy to find staple Louisiana flavours in the country I can tell you that. But rest assured as Cajun Claws sets sail in Jakarta and anchors at Louisiana port, you’ll get your money worth.
