Al Tonno (Tuna) Spaghetti, 79 000RP + Les Japonais Chicken (Chicken) Fettuccine, 58 000RP + Mixed Fruit Juice
We were scrambling around for places to eat around PIK and found a cute spot for dinner. Beatrice Quarters wasn’t the type of place we would usually go to but we decided to give the cutesy-overload a chance. This place should be a hit among teen girls and it could be the place where high school boys bring their girlfriends out for a date.
My girl chose pasta cooked in the simplest form, a classic Tuna aglio olio cooked in olive oil, and just touches of fresh cut chillis and garlic. It was a tad bit dry but the tuna flavours were still pretty nice. I always opt for the creamier base like the carbonara based cream sauce because to me they are more sinful and I like it naughty with the calories. The chicken katsu was cooked well, and cheese that melts on top is like icing on a cake.
White Lava, 45 000RP
We were eyeing on one of the honey toasts from the start. They have a selection of it but we were sold on the White Lava. The toast was made with layered honey, hence the name. All I can say is that I sense hot and cold, crusty, soft and creamy, sweet and salted, all at the same time. They had the perfect balance and we reckon that this was the best dish of the night. Honey toasts are perhaps the mandatory item to order if you are ever at Beatrice Quarters.
We opened it up and inside was chocolate sauce with a spread of crunchy Kelloggs’s coco pops. On top of the toast was white and dark chocolate lava blanketing a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My my my, take all of my money and bring me the cake.
