When I think of Kinfolk I think of Kinfolk Magazine, a group of keen folks exploring cultures and way of life through abstract and rather creative viewpoints. The same goes to this cafe, as I was able to appreciate the vibe, easygoing and a little eccentric. It was such a pity that they do not serve an all day breakfast option, so we had to order something from the lunch menu because we came in pretty late in the day.
Half Soup + Half Salad, 12AUD

My babe Rachel was feeling healthy and she ordered the forever ingenious pair, soup and salad. Both salad and soup options are changed daily and on the menu today was quinoa salad and lentil soup. We adored the soup on a cold winter day, and the salad was light but it keeps her full for the whole day. We love the subtle flavours of the soup and it was not at all overwhelming, we thought it was pleasant and hearty.

Cuban Toastie, 13AUD

I ordered a sandwich as I was craving for a good protein. The negatives are that it had a little too much mustard for my liking and the sourdough bread was toasted a little too much that they became too tough to bite. Aside of that, I really enjoyed the glazed ham and the Swiss Gruyere on their own.

Here’s a snapshot of the counter. Warning, they have pretty damn good butter bing cookies that are sinful, and we consider them dangerous.
