If life can be modified as such, I want to be in Paris so I can sit by the bakery and have French baguettes in the day, and have wood-fired Italian pizzas by night. Even if life plays out that way everyday, I cannot find a reason why I would ever be bored. Today I am enjoying the former with my favourite gal, Rachel, at Entrecôte.
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication and we adored the monotonous outlook of the premises.
Le Petit-Dejeuner ‘Continental’, 19.90AUD
I ordered the Continental set which was supposed to come with a fresh pressed orange juice, a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, a croissant and baguette with bonne maman jam, and a side of 63 degree celsius egg with bacon crumbs. I received a pain au chocolat instead of the croissant because it was out by the time we came. No complaints though, I love pain au chocolat as much as I love my croissant. Everything was delicious and excellent, and I can say so especially to the best baguette I have tasted in Melbourne. They have crusty exterior, chewy interior but as a whole still soft and easy to bite. I tore the baguette and dipped them in the coddled egg. It was just an easy and simple way to devour my meal this way, but yet ultra delicious and really, I don’t kid.
Breakfast the Parisian way with a glass of fresh OJ
My gal Rach loves everything cheesy and she got the indulgent Croque-Monsieur. The ham within was hand carved carefully and layered with various cheeses, thyme and bechamel. We love our carbs so much and her Croque Monsieur was as exquisite as my Continental pack.
Aside of its simple and fabulous array of breakfast items, Entrecôte is well known for its Steak Frites that has some kind of herb butter sauce that is supposed to be mindblowing. Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, this Parisian restaurant has got it all covered out.
