Last week, we were invited to The Stamford Plaza Hotel where Executive Chef, Ketan Seth, presented to us a selection of lobster dishes that was going to be available to the public starting 1 August 2015. We were tucked in at The Stamford’s Plaza’s presidential suite where chefs prepared meals in the suite’s kitchen while we sit back, relax and waited to taste. These lobster dishes will be available at The Stamford Plaza Hotel’s restaurant and bar.

The first floor was the dining and living room area while the second floor has a desk space, bedroom as well as a sophisticated gigantic toilet.

Grilled Slipper Lobster Burger
These samples are displayed for picture purposes only. We on the other hand were served with a sample sized plates, just so we are contented and not overeat. The burger as a whole was a delight and fresher than the grungy and dirty regular beef burgers. The lobster within in combination of all other things such as avocadoes, onions, tomatoes, and rocket salad, were a bracing take on a burger. Aside all that, fries never fail to give crisp making all things better.

Slipper Lobster With Ricotta Ravioli
In preparation for our ravioli, I noticed tons ingredients incorporated to dish to balance the flavours, so that its right. The ravioli was cooked al dente and made with fresh pasta. The sauce was a little cheesy but still light. As a general consensus, this dish was quite the favourite.

Char Grilled Slipper Lobster
I love eating lobsters in its natural state and having to peel it out the shells. This dish was my favourite of the night. I love having it with the garlic mayonnaise that was served. Having sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries was also a definite plus point.

Grilled Slipper Lobster With Slow Braised ‘Otway’ Pork Belly
We love the the pork belly was well cooked and well rested. However, the crackling skin was overcooked, which makes it difficult to even bite because it was tough in texture. Putting the skin aside, we adore the addition of mushy raisins that complements the pork belly meat. The mix of both minted peas, pork jus and balsamic reduction was also one of a kind.

Thai ‘Dry’ Red Curry Of Slipper Lobster
The slipper lobster on coconut cream red curry emits a burst of fragrance, texture and flavour. The balance of fresh herbs and savoury curry brought the boys to the roof. It was indeed Jan’s favourite dish of the night. Have it with a bowl of fragrant rice and you’ll reach heavenly plateau.

The chefs have also prepared some desserts for us to share around and we really appreciate the sweet gesture.

August is all about lobsters at Harry’s Restaurant & Bar. Be mouth watered at the succulent arrays of lobster dishes above. Feel elated, all that you see on top costs just 15AUD-30AUD.
