+39 Pizzeria

+39 Pizza, 27AUD
Dig deep down Little Bourke Street, I found a newly favourite place for Italian food. Italian is a favourite cuisine of mine and my knees get weak when there is pizza or pasta on the table. I do enjoy thick sinful pizza crusts but thin flimsy wood fired pizzas are the kinds I love most. The +39 Pizza is the restaurant’s signature, which has a tomato base, heaps of fior di latte (mozzarella), gorgonzola cheese and mascarpone, as well as berkshire sausages, and prosciutto. And if you know me well, I am crazy in love with anything prosciutto and/or pancetta, okay, maybe I love prosciutto a little more. The pizza crust was on point, still chewy and it does not break off like crispy chips when you try to break it up.

Tartufata Pizza, 23.50AUD

My friends and I also shared A white based pizza with cream of mushroom and mushrooms, generous amount of fior di latte, rockets and parmesan drizzle. They also sprayed truffle oil so there is that strong gasoline smell and taste, and I loved it.

Polenta Chips, 9AUD
These uno-stacko Polenta chips was paired with the best sauce and I think I dipped my pizza in it too. Overall, I loved the vibe of +39 Pizzeria. Nothing too fancy, but just an elevated pizza house that serves classic unpretentious food. The authenticity is there, with real Italians committing great efforts to make good doughs and ensure quality fresh ingredients for its pizza toppings. There is just very few places that you have strong affinity with because of the experience you get at a particular restaurant, and +39 Pizzeria did just that for me. I have yet to try out their desserts but I can assure you that I will be back.
