Bamboe Cafe

We were driving around Chadstone after a day of shopping at Chadstone Mall. Jan was craving for Indonesian food and we stumbled upon Bamboe Cafe on Urbanspoon. It had pretty decent ratings and it was just around the corner from where we were. While waiting for our food, I did an observable scan and spotted one caucasian man. Everyone else but him, was Indonesian, and mostly youngsters. But why am I not surprised when he splurted out our common tongue to his Indonesian counterparts. And just to mention, he’s really fluent. Good job brother!

Sate Ayam (6 Pieces), 12.90AUD

These satay pieces were thicker than normal and we loved it. The peanut sauce has mini nutty chunks that I was obsessed about.

Nasi Goreng Jawa

I ordered the Nasi Goreng Jawa and it does not look it but trust me, it was ginormous. It had both fried rice and fried noodles served with so many ingredients in one plate. I just love these two carb combinations in one. The Nasi Goreng Jawa would have felt albeit plain if we did not order the satay pieces. I needed an extra side to complement this dish with.

Nasi Kuning Komplit, 13.90AUD

Jan was trying to relive a good memory of a time where he had really good Nasi Kuning back in Indonesia. For this one, it comes with yellow tumeric rice, fried egg noodles, tempeh, soybean cooked with anchovies, tomatoes, marinated chicken chunks and a single pork satay skewer. Like the name says, its all complete.
