With the beautiful decor outside of Drugstore Espresso, I had so much high expectations for this place. Sadly, I wasn’t wowed with what was presented. We were utterly disappointed. Maybe we should’ve gotten other things on the menu instead.
Dukkah Eggs, 14AUD
On the menu it said, two poached eggs. Both yolks came out fully baked. The whole plate would have probably cost us two to three bucks if we made it ourselves. It was so basic, basic yet done so poorly, money wasted. Underneath that bed of eggs lie some wilted spinach, crumbled fetta cheese and drizzled with dukkah. I think I could do a much better job turning this into a frittata at home.
Smoked Salmon Bagel, 15AUD
The Smoked Salmon Bagel was much better than the Dukkah Eggs. Its paired with herbed cream cheese spread, smashed eggs and fresh chives. The downfall of this bagel burger was because of the overcooked eggs. Again, why?
Smiling before he eats, frowning while he eats
On a side note, I was intrigued with the chemical lab glasswares. There is science to coffees you know? By the way, could you spot a tiny fish at the end of the glasswares?
Pretty cupcakes on display
I love Drugstore Espresso’s interior decor as they incorporate chemical test tubes, glasswares, and plant subjects for food and coffee experiments. Unfortunately, test subject experiments made on our plates failed.
