The Tree Of Us

The Stelios Burger (2 x 140g Beef Patties), 21AUD

After an evening session spooning on cakes, Jan and I were craving for burgers for dinner. So I researched and stumbled upon The Tree Of Us on urbanspoon, which has crazy good reviews. We weren’t particularly hungry but we still went for it. Bad idea? Nope, read on to know why. Jan ordered the biggest burger called The Stelios. It has two big patties with bacon, swiss cheese, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, jalapeno, relish, truffle mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes. Whoa, that’s a whole lot of items combined. He didn’t regret his choice. The meats were a little pinkish and not overcooked, perfecto. Of course, I had tiny bits of his, and agreed that it was the real deal.

Hand Cut Chips, Side:4AUD/Bowl:8AUD

The Hand Cut Chips were a little small even for the bowl sized that we ordered. It’ll definitely be a steal if the portions were much bigger than it is. Apparently these chips were cooked three times to achieve that consistency. Sprinkled with rosemary salt, its probably one of the best chips I’ve ever eaten to date. And a little dab of mayonnaise doesn’t do harm since we’re already going for it.

No Misteak (Scotch Fillet), 18AUD

The cashier guy recommended the No Misteak Burger and so I had an amazing piece of the scotch fillet. The No Misteak companions were some bacons, swiss cheese, caramelised onions, relish, lettuce, tomato and a dash of mayonnaise. Again, cooked to perfection. In fact, I tried to finish up my buns before savouring the last few bites of the scotch fillet on its own.

House Onion Rings, Side:4AUD/Bowl:8AUD

The House Onion Rings (Bowl) were good too, but a tad bit too oily, even for me. These onion rings are battered with the Mountain Goat Steam Ale beer. Fancy.

Tree Milkshake (Vanilla), 6AUD

Burgers and milkshakes? We couldn’t be more American. I thought the milkshake was alright. It wasn’t as cold as it should be. How would you like un-cold thick milkshakes? Hm, not me.

I’m pretty sure my head is almost comparable to that size of Jan’s burger.

We had a satisfying meal at The Tree Of Us. Maybe it’s priced a bit on the steeper end for burgers, but overall we still enjoyed dinner. The waiter couldn’t believe we finished everything squeaky clean. That was nothing, really. How could anyone leave traces of food when these burgers are so flipping good? I guess I could be a FATsporation to all the food fanatics like I am. Let’s just leave diet for another day.

What I really mean is, holy smokes I’m a roly-poly, I should stab myself.
