TWG Tea Salon & Boutique
High tea is always best having it with chatty girlfriends. We got ourselves eleven macarons, a fruit tart and two teas. TWG Tea Salon & Boutique has an extensive collection of teas from several hundreds of choices for you to choose from. How to select and not get a headache?
Out of the 12 choices of macarons, we avoided one called the Moroccan Mint Tea. All of us aren’t fond of anything minty. Just at 2SGD each, we thought that TWG Tea Salon & Boutique provides one of the cheapest macarons around town. TWG Tea’s macarons are not like any other, they are all tea infused with house signature teas. I suppose there would be caffeine in it too then?? If you’re a huge tea fan like me, you would love this place. Here are the list of the other macarons we ordered:
1. Napoleon Tea & Caramel
2. 1837 Black Tea & Blackcurrant
3. Earl Grey Fortune Tea & Chocolate
4. Lemon Bush Tea
6. Camelot Tea & Praline
7. Bain De Roses Tea
8. Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut
9. Vanilla Bourbon Tea & Kaya
(P.s The other two macarons aren’t listed in the menu and I have no idea what they are called, oops!)
Guess which are my favourites? I would say ‘Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut’, ‘Vanilla Bourbon Tea & Kaya’ and ‘Bain De Roses Tea’.
I don’t feel as guilty savouring on this Berry Tart. I mean.. its 50% filled with fruits right…? I loved it. It has a middle cream that glues both the raspberries and blueberries to the tart. The berries are fresh and juicy too, a proof that the cake had just been made and hasn’t been kept for days.
White House Tea
The waiter recommended their signature White House Tea. Its subtly sweet and smells like vanilla. Since then, I’ve constantly been getting the White House Tea whenever I come back here for one.
187 Wine has a slightly stronger taste. It was 50:50. Two of my girls preferred 187 wine while another 50 goes to the White House Tea. If you haven’t already noticed, I raised my hands for the White House Tea.
I have known these girls for more than a decade. Primary school friends that stay close to me throughout my life. We were young once and now we’re all in different respective universities or already jumped for work. Even when we’re older in the future, we’ll still make dates for high tea session because that’s what taitais (wealthy married women who don’t work) do. Okay… kidding with the ‘not-working’ part. Spreading my love for you girls, cheers with our teacups!
