Headed over to Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant 瑞春点心餐厅 with Jan and my Melbournian girls. Haven’t seen them in such a long time and we’ve missed having dim sum so much that we have to have a go at it.
The standout from the whole meal goes to none other than.. molten flowing lava Steamed Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun. One does not simply dislike molten custard buns! Blow my cholesterol up the roofs, I simply… do not care. Apart from that, I quite love the signature Swee Choon Mee-Suah Kueh. Given in six squares of a rectangular piece, the Mee-Suah Kueh was pan fried giving off a crispy texture with soft insides. It just couldn’t be more fulfilling.
Steamed Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun, 3.60SGD + Zha Jiang La Mian, 5SGD + Fried Golden Tofu, 3.50SGD + Pan Fried Pork Dumpling, 4SGD
Another round of Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun for us gluttons. The Zha Jian La Mian is pretty big for a dim sum portion. I was quite disappointed with the baby bok choys, they tasted absolutely weird. By the way, the Golden Tofu comes in six pieces with pork floss topped on it.
Rachel is excited to eat!
Oh, goodness!
The food standards are generally pretty satisfactory. Not crazy about it but.. good enough. Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant 瑞春点心餐厅 can accommodate hundreds of people. They have expanded its original outlet and its ever so popular because it is a supper destination. They operate daily (except Tuesdays) from 6pm-6am catering to all the night owls.
