Time Out Cafe
Banana Bread French Toast, 13.90AUD
Albeit on the pricier side, Time Out Cafe is more of a bar area than a brunch place. The place comes alive during the night. It is located right next to the Flinders Street Station and the ever so beautiful St Paul’s cathedral. Time Out Cafe sits at Federation Square, a place where everyone would come to hang out at.
I liked my Banana Bread French Toast. Like…. not love. I gave a sad face when the waitress presented me my Banana Bread French Toast without bananas?! I didn’t expect ‘banana bread’, I expected ‘bananas on top of my french toast’ you know? Oh well that was my fault anyway. I don’t know if it was meant to be cold or warm, but I certainly did not get them warm and I was again… disappointed. It was fulfilling in the beginning, then I stopped liking it after awhile when diminishing returns sets in.
Big Fed, 19.90AUD
Jan’s Big breakfast consist of the real deal. Underneath the two pieces of sourdoughs are mushrooms, hashbrowns, bacon, chorizo sausages, grilled tomatoes, garlic and the best part? A sizzling steak! Perhaps scrambled eggs seem to be a better option for this particular big breakkie. Jan also told me that this Big Fed that he ate, was one of the most satisfying meals that we had in Melbourne.
A beautiful day today. I get excited and happy when I actually get to sit outdoors and enjoy the food, the scenery and when I get to people watch. C’est la vie 🙂
What Jan and I enjoy most about having brunch at Time Out Cafe is our view at St Paul’s Cathedral and Flinders Street Station. Brightens up our day!
