Five & Dime Eatery

Big Brekkie
I love how more and more people appreciate brunch cafes. By that I mean, demand for cozy cafes would increase, so investors and entrepreneurs .. please make more effort to open up more cafes. At Five & Dime Eatery, I ordered the Big Brekkie (22SGD) which comes with really good omelette, baked beans, awesome sauteed mushrooms, decent chipolata sausages, bacons and two overly un-crispy and hard toast. Just enough to fill my empty tummy. For the eggs, you can opt for sunny side up if you wish. I’m such a breakfast person, I can eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper everyday and all day. Come on.. I know you too.
Eggs Benny

Eggs Benny
I think that girls would love having brunch at Five & Dime Eatery because portion sizes tend to be small. Their Eggs Benny 16SGD is no exception. I love the sweet bananas and the spicy potatoes so much. I love unique sides! Both bennies are good too, although my favourite kind of bennies would include using English Muffins as the base. Well with egg bennies, hollandaise sauce is always the key.

Hamburger Steak + Sauteed Mushrooms

Sauteed Mushrooms
The Hamburger Steak costs 18SGD and additional mushrooms at 2SGD. Such a rip off because the portion size is incredibly small. Trust me, you can get about two full big mac upsized meals and be more satisfied.

Mentaiko Pasta

Mentaiko Pasta
The Mentaiko Pasta (18SGD) is one of Five & Dime Eatery’s signature dishes. How often would you get to try pasta with mentaiko in it? I’m not a fan of the dish cus I’m not a fan of mentaiko. My friend said it was pretty good but she gets sick to the mouth during the last few bites.
Mushroom Aglio

You can so imagine the taste of this Mushroom Aglio Olio by looking at the picture itself. (18SGD)
Hot Chocolate
Hot Chocolate
I believe they blend their own chocolate. Its thick and chocolatey. Thumbs up! (6SGD)

Small and expensive coffee at 6SGD. Now that I’m in Aussie I find that Singapore cafe coffees are expensive. I appreciate the latte art though.
Five & Dime Eatery gained popularity during the past few years and is now one of the absolute to-go brunch places for many Singaporeans. The food here is slightly pricier than most brunch places. Then again, they’re located at a prime location close to Somerset. They got to pay rent too you know. I wouldn’t mind paying for the ambience.
